Top Tips When Going On Holiday

  1. Check your insurance is up to date! Did you get any expensive Christmas presents? Make sure they are itemised on your policy.
  2. Stop your paper deliveries.
  3. Have someone empty your mail. Or temporarily get your mail held while you’re away.
  4. Limit your travel updates on Facebook – don’t put anything up saying you are not at home.
  5. Similarly, don’t leave a message on your answering machine stating you’re away.
  6. Pull the plug on your TV, Computer, washing machine or any other appliances that may be effected by a power surge.
  7. Remove your spare key from it’s sneaky hiding place – it’s never sneaky enough!
  8. Make sure your valuables are out of sight from the outside.
  9. Notify your neighbours and leave your phone number in case of emergencies.
  10. If you have an alarm, use it!
  11. Leave your curtains open.
  12. Clean out your fridge – you don’t want any nasty surprises when you get home.
  13. Double check all your doors and windows are locked.
  14. Finally, if you are going abroad, make sure you have travel cover!
