Don’t be fooled by cheap premiums for life insurance

Imagine if your Life Insurance premiums never went up each year. Imagine saving tens of thousands of dollars in premium over your lifetime. Imagine being able to afford Life Insurance for the rest of your life.

Don’t be fooled by cheap premiums. You will find that these types of policies, later on, will become more expensive than the mortgage you pay now.

You will have different needs when it comes to Life insurance so it’s not a case of one size fits all. It is important to have the correct type of cover today because there are so many different products out there and you can’t be expected to understand which one of these products are best for you. Also, what you took out some time ago is not always what you require now. This is why it is so important to talk to a Greenstone Insurance Adviser. Our Advisers have experience in tailoring life insurance packages to meet your needs for however long you require life Insurance for. They are not just tied to one supplier and have access to New Zealand’s Leading Insurers. So take this time to give us a call and review your life cover at a time that is convenient.

Kiwi Quinoa

Jacqui and husband Dan have pioneered growing quinoa here in New Zealand after noticing that the quinoa-growing regions of Peru looked a lot like home. They produced their first commercial crop in February 2016 and look forward to supplying quinoa to dining tables all over New Zealand.

A list of current stockists is available on their website: www.kiwiquinoa.com

Here’s a recipe to try using this versatile and healthy grain.

Three Cheese, Salmon and Quinoa Tart

TART INGREDIENTS

  1. ½ cup quinoa
  2. 2 cups water
  3. 1 teaspoon each of ground coriander, turmeric and cumin
  4. 2 cups spinach leaves
  5. 6 eggs
  6. ½ cup cream
  7. 250gm Ricotta cheese
  8. 1 ½ cups grated tasty cheese
  9. ¾ cup grated parmesan cheese
  10. 2 cloves crushed garlic
  11. Finely grated zest of 1 lemon
  12. Salt & pepper to taste

TOPPINGS

  1. 100g of cream cheese softened with a drizzle of cream
  2. 100g of smoked salmon with dill, or your favourite grilled veggies

METHO

  1. Preheat oven to 180° C. Grease and line a 23cm round spring-form cake tin with baking paper.
  2. Place the quinoa and water in a small saucepan with the coriander, turmeric and cumin.
  3. Bring to the boil and allow to simmer for 15 minutes, then rinse, strain and set aside to cool.
  4. Place the spinach leaves in a sieve or colander and lightly wilt by dousing with boiled water.
  5. Spread out on a paper towel or clean tea towel to absorb excess moisture.
  6. In a large bowl, whisk the eggs and cream and season well with salt and pepper. Stir in the three cheeses, quinoa, spinach, garlic and lemon.
  7. Pour into the lined tin and bake for 35-40 minutes or until the tart is puffed and golden and no longer wobbly in the centre.
  8. Cool in the tin for 20 minutes before removing.
  9. Spread with cream cheese and add your favourite topping.
  10. Serves six.
